The published results point to the idea that in the near future, e-learning will further reflect and influence the best of digital culture as it exists in 2005. That may lead to courses and programs that incorporate the immersive qualities of video games, function in a manner similar to a typical Google search, and appeal to a truly diverse online community of learners. And open source alternatives to traditional tools for creating courseware may soon revolutionize the entire e-learning industry.
